About your new company:
My client is a well-established and family-owned logistics business who have been operating for over 25 years. The successful HGV Technician will report to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for maintaining VLT’s HGVs and enhancing the performance of their modern vehicle fleet. As an integral part of their operation, you will also be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
About your new HGV Technician role:
- Maintain our mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles and trailers to the highest standard and in line with DVSA requirements
- Vehicle and Trailer inspections
- MOT preparation to DVSA standards
- Brake testing at every inspection
- Fault finding and repairs
- Use of diagnostic equipment
The successful HGV Technician will require:
- Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HGV Mechanic (post qualification) preferably within a fleet environment
- Large Goods Vehicle experience is essential
- Class 1 or Class 2 is Desirable
- Flexible approach to work
- Health & Safety awareness
- Excellent time-keeping skills
