The Role as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer
We are a well-established independent commercial vehicle workshop based in Poole and are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician seeking a varied role within a friendly, supportive business where quality workmanship and customer service are highly valued.
You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of commercial vehicles including HGVs, PSVs and Class 7 vans.
Key duties as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer
- Carrying out vehicle inspections on HGVs, PSVs and Class 7 vehicles.
- Completing MOT preparation work and presenting vehicles for DVSA testing.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
- Undertaking HGV repairs ranging from lighting and electrical issues through to major mechanical work, including clutch replacements.
- Performing PSV repairs, including lighting, suspension and air system repairs.
- Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Carrying out day-to-day running repairs to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and roadworthy.
What we’re looking for in the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Engineer
- Experience working on HGVs, PSVs and/or commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience with MOT preparation and vehicle inspections.
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
