Due to ongoing growth, they are now seeking an Operations Supervisor to support the continued expansion of their Belfast operation.
About your new Operations Supervisor role
Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be a key member of the management team, responsible for the day-to-day running of Branch Operations, including the Secure Area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily branch and secure-area operations
- Processing containers into and out of the department
- Employee rostering and weekly updates to the TMS system
- Route planning and route optimisation
- Briefing and debriefing drivers
- Dispatch management of approximately 40 drivers
- Fleet planning, vehicle utilisation, and downtime scheduling
- Ensuring on-time deliveries and collections within strict time windows
- Managing ad-hoc and seasonal collection schedules
- Activity-based planning aligned to customer demand
- Monitoring transport efficiencies and fuel KPIs
- Controlling telematics and in-house fuel monitoring systems
- Managing suppliers to control operational costs
- Line management of drivers including performance reviews, recruitment, and HR processes
- Ensuring legal compliance with Operator’s Licence requirements
- Maintaining fleet legality, safety, and maintenance standards
- Upholding the highest standards of security, health, and safety
- Producing reports and maintaining full audit trails
A full paid induction and on-the-job training programme will be provided.
The successful Operations Supervisor will require:
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft Office packages
- Proven Health & Safety management knowledge
- Experience in routing and fleet management
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full 5-year checkable employment or academic history
