About the Company

My client is a well-established and growing supplier of specialist lifting equipment and plant machinery

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join their team, carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on a range of specialist lifting machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a mechanical or electrical background to join a supportive team, with full training provided on the equipment. Candidates with experience in plant machinery, HGVs, forklift trucks or powered access equipment would be well suited to the role. Applications from ex-military engineers are also strongly encouraged.

The Role

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on mini cranes and specialist lifting equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, providing effective solutions to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Attend customer sites to investigate breakdowns and carry out on‑site repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
  • Support customers and colleagues with technical advice, equipment training and general workshop duties.

What You’ll Need

  • Level 3 engineering qualification, ideally in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Previous engineering experience in a relevant field, such as plant machinery, HGVs, forklift trucks or powered access equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication, customer service and organisational skills, alongside a sound understanding of health and safety.
