Associate Director of Computational Biology

This drug discovery Biotech are looking for their first in house Bioinformatician to join their team in their efforts in small molecule drug discovery. The team are at an exciting, pivotal, point as they are working on a first in class target, and are looking to move to clinical candidate nomination in the next 12 months.

You’ll join a well-established team of talented biologists and work as the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology expert, providing strategic leadership whilst also being hands on day to day. You will need to translate the companies long term strategy into, day to day priorities, and execute these, with the help of external partners.

We are looking for someone experienced in immuno-oncology, drug discovery, and who thrives in the ever-changing nature of a small company. You will need to be a strong communicator who is able to translate complex technical concepts to people from differing technical backgrounds.

Experience needed:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related fields.
  • Several years of post-study work experience in drug discovery.
  • Strong Immuno-oncology/oncology background.
  • Expertise in preclinical human cancer cell models.
  • Expert in NGS analysis – Including WES, WGS, COSMIC mutational signatures, and MSI scores from NGS.
  • Knowledge of Neoantigen and MHC binding prediction
  • Previous experience in biomarker discovery.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to communicate with people from different technical backgrounds.
