Experience as a chemical analyst in a production environment. At least 2 years of experience. Industry - Automotive. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

Are you a chemist with a strong focus on quality, safety, and legislation? Then this is your job! In this role, you will be a key player in a rapidly growing organization. You will be part of a major professionalization process and find it challenging and energizing to play an important role in it. You have a solid foundation of experience in quality control and are eager to further develop your skills in the field of regulatory affairs (GB CLP, ADR requirements & UK REACH), if not already present.

You will:

  • Coordinate and conduct quality control by analysing the raw materials, mixtures and products against approved specifications, so that the quality of the (end) products is guaranteed;
  • Investigate deviations and out-of-specification results, determine and coordinate the necessary production adjustments or rework, and verify compliance with specifications before product release;
  • Prepare the required QC specifications, test methods and documentation for the introduction of new or modified products into production;
  • Review product classifications, labels and safety data sheets, and monitor relevant regulatory changes to ensure compliance with GB CLP, UK REACH and other applicable chemical legislation;
  • Ensure that Kemetyl UK complies with ADR requirements for handling and the transportation of dangerous goods, as implemented through the UK Carriage of Dangerous Goods (CDG) Regulations;
  • Create, implement and maintain controlled laboratory documentation in line with ISO 9001 requirements, including SOPs, calibration and verification procedures, test methods and test records;
  • Prepare, generate and maintain safety data sheets, ensuring consistency with the approved formulation, product classification and applicable GB CLP and UK REACH requirements;
  • Monitor and manage applicable UK REACH obligations, including import and registration requirements, restrictions, authorisations and supplier documentation.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience;
  • At least 2 years working experience as a chemical analyst in a production environment;
  • Good understanding of chemical raw materials, production processes and their impact on finished-product quality;
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office;
  • Good command of the English language.

If not yet present, willingness to be trained in:

  • GB CLP, UK REACH and other applicable UK chemical legislation relating to consumer products;
  • Carriage rules of dangerous goods by road (DGSA/ADR), including obtaining a valid certification of DGSA (valid for 5 years).
