Job Summary

1-5PM – MONDAY-FRIDAY
2-6PM – MONDAY-FRIDAY
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Modern Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while developing essential skills in childcare and early childhood education. The Modern Apprentice will work closely with experienced professionals to learn the ins and outs of managing a nursery setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of children while fostering their development.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships.
- Encourage positive interactions among children.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge in childcare practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting, ensuring all equipment is safe and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Work with the staff team to create a positive safe environment.
Be a valued member of a team.
- Gain practical experience with children as young as babies to pre-school age.
Setting up activities and prepare the children for a fun and active day of learning.
- Learn how children develop through creative activities.
- Following nursery safeguarding procedures to ensure all children are kept safe and secure.
- Working closely with parents/carers to deliver an individual learning and development journey for children.
- Assisting children with personal care tasks including toileting, dressing, and feeding.
- Being flexible and providing help where needed, to include the cleaning of equipment and preparing of snacks and lunches.
- Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. Realise the important role you play in lots of special people\’s lives.
- You will also be working towards a recognised qualification and have the support of an Assessor via college.
