Duties & Responsibilities

  • Update cash books and post transactions to the accounting system
  • Prepare and maintain intercompany reconciliations
  • Update fixed asset and prepayment schedules
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform cost ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Prepare and post month-end journals
  • Process supplier invoices and support payment runs
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice queries
  • Support credit control activities, including following up outstanding debtors
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of weekly payroll journals
  • Support month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Provide general administrative and ad hoc support to the wider Finance team as required

Requirements

  • Good academic background with a desire to pursue accountancy qualifications
  • Previous experience within an accounts or finance administration role is desirable, although candidates with limited experience and a strong willingness to learn will also be considered
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Proactive with a positive and flexible approach to work
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues, suppliers and clients via phone and email
  • Conscientious, reliable and eager to develop within a finance career
  • Willingness to support the wider team with ad hoc tasks when required
