Main Purpose of Job

To develop and manage robust preconstruction programmes for heavy civils & groundworks., ensuring accurate planning, sequencing, and project controls. The role requires expertise in Primavera P6, project controls, and experience in Data Centres or similar complex environments.

The role involves planning and scheduling for heavy civils & groundworks projects during preconstruction, ensuring alignment with client requirements and internal governance.

  • Programme Development – Create and maintain detailed preconstruction programmes using Primavera P6, incorporating design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Project Controls – Implement robust project controls, including progress monitoring, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management – Identify risks and opportunities within the programme and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination – Work closely with clients, design teams, and internal departments to ensure programme accuracy and feasibility.
  • Change Control – Manage programme changes and maintain accurate configuration documentation.
  • Governance & Compliance – Ensure planning processes align with company governance and industry best practices.
  • Reporting – Provide clear and timely reports to the Preconstruction Manager and senior stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement – Contribute to planning process improvements and innovation within the preconstruction team.

Personal Specification

Technical Competency

  • Proven experience as a Planner in heavy civils & groundworks.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and project controls.
  • Experience in Data Centres or similar complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Professional qualification in Planning, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Membership of APM or equivalent professional body.
