We are seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to support the delivery of geotechnical solutions across a range of infrastructure, building, and civil engineering projects. The role involves geotechnical analysis, design development, and interpretation of ground investigation data, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective designs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Undertake geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks, and ground improvement solutions
- Interpret ground investigation and laboratory testing data
- Carry out geotechnical calculations in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and project specifications
- Prepare technical reports, design statements, and drawings
- Support the planning and scoping of ground investigations
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Provide technical input during construction, including responding to site queries
- Contribute to risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Ensure designs meet health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years experience in geotechnical design within a consultancy or contracting environment
- Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics
- Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK design practice
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
