We are seeking a passionate and driven Geothermal Systems Engineer to join our small, dynamic team dedicated to designing low‑carbon geo‑energy structures adopting our USP, the Hiperpile. This role focuses on the development of Hiperenergy solutions and the integration of Hiper systems into a variety of applications including residential and commercial buildings, heat networks, data centres as well as large‑scale infrastructure projects. Our work covers the disciplines of deep foundation and MEP design, installation and maintenance so a systems‑thinking mindset and a willingness to engage with multidisciplinary challenges are essential. This position is ideal for an Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in geotechnical or energy engineering, and a strong interest in sustainability and innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design & optioneering of sustainable, geotechnical systems with a focus on low‑carbon solutions.
  • Assessment of the thermal potential of geo‑energy structures.
  • Integration of energy geo‑structures into the wider MEP strategy.
  • Estimating compilation, bid submission and work‑winning support for geo‑energy structures including the groundside energy system.
  • Completion of whole‑life carbon calculations for thermal systems and components.
  • Conduct whole‑life operational cost assessments.
  • Attend client meetings and deliver technical presentations.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Geotechnical, Structural, Chemical, Energy, or related field).
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in geotechnical, structural, energy, or MEP engineering.
  • Comprehensive use of Microsoft office packages.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for sustainability and innovative engineering solutions.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with finite element modelling (FEM) software is highly desirable.
  • Strong interest in achieving professional engineering qualifications (e.g. CEng).

Relevant Experience

Essential

  • Design of ground source‑based heating / cooling systems (groundside).
  • Thermal borehole design.
  • Thermal pile design.

Desirable

  • Geotechnical and/or pile design.
  • MEP system design.
  • Heat network design.
  • Heat pump selection and design.
  • Site experience of MEP / heat pump installation.
