Operation Manager x 2 Crushing / Earthworks
• To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of all earthworks / crushing activities undertaken by Kelston Sparkes, leading on short term hire sites, and collaborating with site managers on long term sites
• Liaise with the site management, clients, sub contractors and other stakeholders, communicating relevant aspects of delivered works, including health and safety, quality, operations, delivery, programme and commercial aspects.
• Champion Kelston Sparkes safety, efficiency, and maintenance programmes. • Responsible for contract compliance and programming for future works.
• Provide effective and visible leadership for Kelston Sparkes.
• Responsibility for the management of Health and Safety (H&S) working with the H&S leadership team. Ensuring on site Health and Safety and the wellbeing of all staff employed or subcontracted by Kelston Sparkes.
• Have commercial and financial understanding of all active and prospective sites, developing and implementing cost and efficiency savings at all times.
• Represent the company in a professional and proactive manner, building strong relationships with Clients.
Planning:
• Plan all aspects of delivered works, ensuring the project requirements, specifications, risks, health and safety, methodology and programme are all accounted for, recorded and communicated at the start of the project.
• Manage weekly and monthly efficiency outputs, ensuring that meaningful actions are instigated and delivered to ensure that performance is maximised.
• Ensure that monthly inspections and calibrations are completed to maintain compliance and drive monthly maintenance meetings.
• Ensure that all autonomous, reactive, and preventative maintenance activities are completed. • Ensure all risk assessments have been completed and communicated to affected staff/operators prior to commencing works
• Ensure Site Managers are aware of and in receipt of all required project information required to deliver the project.
Health & Safety:
• Provide effective leadership for Health and Safety within the business, ensuring that Health and Safety policy and plans are communicated and implemented.
• Ensure ongoing compliance to all Kelston Sparkes standards
• Ensure the safety of site visitors and staff. Ensure that risks are recorded and preventative measures are taken, including correct use of personal protective equipment.
• Undertake management safety tours on sites on a monthly basis with safety team.
Commercial:
• Work with commercial team to price new contracts.
• Provide technical expertise to provide customer solutions whilst maintaining profitability.
• Review weekly outputs, targets and costs to ensure profitability of all works.
• Develop relationships with Clients to generate new work opportunities.
• Report of profit / loss to Quarry Services Director for all projects.
• Manage and review ongoing surveys to ensure correct costings are maintained.
Head Office is based Stanton Drew, covering the South West.
