Run iconic Scottish events end-to-end for one of the country's most ambitious new event hospitality operators. Apex Bars & Events is hiring Event Managers for the 2026 season. Event Managers carry full operational accountability for an Apex event from contract handover through to post-event reconciliation. You're the senior Apex presence on the ground, the named person for licensing, safety and commercial performance, and the primary client-facing contact during delivery. This is a senior leadership role with the autonomy and accountability that goes with it.
The role
- Take handover of confirmed events and develop the operational plan: bars, staffing, stock, cash, set-up, break-down
- Lead the event on the ground from set-up through trading to break-down
- Hold full licensing accountability as DPM, including handling Police and Licensing Standards inspections
- Deliver the event to budget and to the agreed commercial outcome for the client
- Build and lead the event team: Assistant Event Managers, Team Leaders, Event Staff
- Be the senior Apex point of contact for the client and venue during delivery
- Conduct the full post-event reconciliation and debrief

What we're looking for
- Current SCPLH personal licence (essential at appointment)
- Significant operational experience in licensed hospitality: events, multi-site or large venue background
- Demonstrable cash, commercial and team accountability in a previous role
- Strong working knowledge of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and DPM duties
- Experience leading teams of 10+ in high-pressure operational environments
- Comfortable in a client-facing role, representing the company to senior contacts
- First Aid at Work, IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to obtain within first three months; Apex funds)
- Driving licence and own transport (essential for several Apex venues)
- Outdoor or temporary events experience, cellar and gas safety qualifications, food hygiene, P&L exposure, and existing Scottish event sector relationships are all strongly desirable
- Right to work in the UK
