We have an exciting opportunity for a TRANSPORT MANAGER to join the management team of a WILLENHALL based manufacturing business running its own in-house fleet of vehicles undertaking multi-drop deliveries throughout the West Midlands. As the nominated TRANSPORT MANAGER you will have complete responsibility for the transport function across the business. Salary is entirely dependent on experience and will therefore be discussed at interview; however, we anticipate something in the region of £40 - £45k.
As TRANSPORT MANAGER your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure full “O” license compliance as the nominated individual
- Manage the operation of an in-house fleet of roughly 20 Class 2 vehicles in line with Legislative, H&S and DVLA requirements
- Liaise with third party providers regarding servicing, repairs & breakdowns
- Prioritise customer service and satisfaction
- Optimum utilisation of drivers and vehicles within operational parameters
- Route planning for local multi-drop deliveries
- Manage a team of in-house drivers including CPC training, recruitment & discipline
- Oversee loading operations to facilitate planned deliveries
- Review, analyse & reporting of KPI’s
As the successful TRANSPORT MANAGER your CV should include the following key skills & experience:
- Previous experience in a Transport or Logistics capacity or similar
- Transport Manager CPC qualification
- Nominated Operator License responsibility
- Managing & motivating a team of HGV drivers & support staff
- Planning optimum utilisation of resources to achieve desired service levels
- Resilient & strategic problem solver with strong influencing skills at all levels within the business
- Route planning a blend of single and multi-drop deliveries
- Computer literate with strong analytical & reporting skills
- Previous experience of HIABs and LOLER requirements would be advantageous
