Job Purpose: To research, design, develop, manufacture, and test equipment. Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling all project elements. This is a responsible and highly versatile role at the heart of our operational process.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for the client, involving them in contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfillment.
- Determine client and project specifications, objectives, schedules, and responsibilities by reviewing client documentation and identifying customer requirements, conferring with the management team.
- Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Maintain financial diligence through budget execution and cost control to meet projected profitability targets and business results.
- Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programs and studying customer requirements.
- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
- Prepare data by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
- Support sales with technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing technical offers, analyzing project specifications, and designing technical solutions.
- Always comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions, working with the management team to implement these within your team.
- Be involved in a range of work to enable the department to respond effectively to the requirements of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the directors or senior management team.
Key Skill Requirements:
- Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline (HND must be accompanied by relevant work experience). Alternative qualifications may be considered.
- Experience in a technical role.
- Experience in project planning and cost control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of CAD modeling and drawings with experience in design development (experience with Solidworks is a plus).
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Commercially aware with the ability to negotiate costs.
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- Comfortable and capable of client management during meetings and testing.
- UK Full Driving Licence.
