Telephone Interpreter / Freelance / Work from Home

Are you a UK based interpreter, fluent in English and a 2 nd language ? And looking to work from home? In this freelance role, you’ll work with the world’s leading language agency, to provide interpretation across a range of industries, including the NHS and the Public Sector.

The Role

  • Providing interpreting services to clients and customers with limited English proficiency
  • Answer requests and interpret real-time conversations both ways via phone call, using a dedicated app.
  • Interpreting and translating English to a 2 nd language and vice versa over the phone in real time
  • Providing accurate and complete interpretation whilst demonstrating excellent customer service at all times

Ideal Person

  • Living in the UK and eligible to work in the UK on a self-employed basis
  • Fluent in both English and a 2 nd language
  • Has in-depth understanding of the cultural dynamics of both languages
  • Previous experience in spoken or written translation and/or interpretation
  • Community Interpreting Level 3 certificate or higher, is desirable but not essential
  • You must hold, or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service
