This role would suit someone from a renewals or records environment, ideally with knowledge of IP practices in different countries, however this isn’t essential as our client is also looking for candidates from similar roles.
Our client is located in the Edgbaston area and are looking for a Renewals Clerk to join their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth.
Benefits:
- Salary – £24,000 to £27,000 per annum.
- Hours of work – Monday to Friday – 09:00am to 17:15pm
- Hybrid working available – Minimum 2 days a week in the office.
- Free onsite parking.
- 33 Days Holiday (Inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Role & Responsibilities:
- Produce and check monthly standard reminders and special reminders for clients.
- Handle client and attorney queries from the Renewals mailbox.
- Provide cost estimates and forecasts for IP renewals.
- Process instructions for renewal/maintenance fees, including invoicing.
- Manage instructions to abandon cases or mark records as no longer under our responsibility.
- Audit daily instructions to ensure record accuracy.
- Update records of lapsed cases from IP Offices and foreign attorneys.
- Pay IPO/EP/EUIPO fees weekly and advise accounts on deposit account use.
- Pay Design & Trademark fees online via WIPO.
- Handle foreign trademark renewals online using ARGOS.
- Instruct foreign agents for trademark renewals and process documentation.
- Use inprotech task planner and diaries to manage and update records.
- Produce monthly overdue renewal lists for fee earners.
- Calculate costs for future or overdue renewals.
- File foreign attorney renewal reminders.
- Process overdue reminders and loss of rights letters.
Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of the renewal’s formalities process and laws in all territories.
- Proficient in using inprotech for managing patent, Design & Trademark renewals.
- Familiarity with ARGOS outsourcing processes.
- Knowledge of fee payment procedures for the European Patent Office and European Community Trademarks.
- Understanding of accounts billing procedures.
- Competent in using iManage Worksite and Microsoft Office.
