We're growing our Virgin Media delivery team and are looking for motivated individuals who are keen to start a career in telecommunications.

No previous telecoms experience is required - if you enjoy hands-on work, learning new skills, and working outdoors, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Trainee Pre-Enablement Engineer, you'll receive full training and support while learning how to prepare, maintain, and improve the network infrastructure that keeps customers connected.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Learning how to carry out network pre-enablement and preparation activities
  • Assisting with the installation, maintenance, and replacement of network equipment
  • Learning to pull and prove fibre and coaxial cables through underground duct networks
  • Supporting blockage clearance and identifying network defects
  • Working safely in footways, carriageways, cabinets, chambers, and customer access areas
  • Carrying out network quality checks and remedial works under supervision
  • Using specialist tools, equipment, and technology safely and effectively
  • Accurately recording work completed using handheld devices
  • Following health, safety, and quality standards at all times

What We're Looking For

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Experience in a hands-on role such as construction, utilities, engineering, groundworks, labouring, or customer service is beneficial but not essential.

  • A strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow processes and work safely
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using handheld devices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months (maximum 6 points)
