The Legal Cashier duties involve:
- Daily bank reconciliations and month end.
- Posting transactions, journal transfers and credits.
- Post and set up completions.
- Petty Cash duties.
- Bank account verification checks.
- Checking completion statements and invoices.
- Logging SDLT payments within set time frame.
- Credit control by letter, email and telephone.
- Investigating and reporting on dormant balances.
- Dealing with telephone queries from colleagues and clients.
- Ensuring land registry is posted and checked daily.
- Ensuring compliance fees are posted, checked and transferred.
- Running reports within LEAP.
- Setting up payments, monitoring daily credits and debits, allocating to correct ledgers.
- Dealing with cheques or cash received and banking.
What you will need for the Legal Cashier role:
- Previous experience in a similar Legal Cashier Accounting role.
- Knowledge of the conveyancing process, sales/purchases, re-mortgages and probate accounts.
- Knowledge and understanding of the CLC and SRA Accounts code/rules.
- Confidentiality and professional communication skills.
- Strong eye for detail and accuracy.
