Kelly Group is seeking to recruit exceptional talent to join our growing team. We now have a unique and exciting opportunity for a skilled Mobile Mechanic to support our nationwide operations. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who takes pride in high‑quality workmanship, enjoys working independently, and thrives in a dynamic, field‑based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Servicing & Maintenance: Carry out planned servicing and preventive maintenance on company vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Fault Diagnosis: Use diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to identify faults quickly and accurately.
- Repairs & Component Replacement: Strip, fit, repair, and replace defective vehicle components, ensuring all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
- MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, completing all necessary checks and adjustments to achieve compliance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete job cards, service sheets, and all relevant paperwork accurately, ensuring they are returned on a weekly basis.
- Parts & Stock Management: Work closely with the stores team to facilitate efficient stock control and timely ordering of parts.
- Work Assessment: Identify any additional repairs or specialist work required and advise if the work should be undertaken by external contractors.
- Operational Liaison: Communicate with operations managers to schedule vehicle servicing and minimise operational downtime.
- Fleet Maintenance: Support the wider team by diagnosing faults, servicing, and maintaining the entire LGV fleet as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an LGV/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Proven competence in vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying workloads.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
