Kelly Farm Consulting is an independent agricultural consultancy working with farming businesses across the South West. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an Agricultural Consultant to join our team. The role will initially focus on Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), Capital Grants and wider grant and scheme work, while also supporting clients with farm business management and strategic decision making.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in agricultural support schemes who is looking to develop into a broader consultancy role. We work closely with a wide range of farming businesses, providing practical, commercially focused advice that helps clients improve performance, secure investment and plan for the future.
You will work directly with farming clients across the South West, taking responsibility for scheme applications, business reviews and wider consultancy projects:
- Preparing Capital Grant applications and claims
- Conducting farm business reviews and benchmarking exercises
- Preparing budgets, cashflows and business reports
- Attending client meetings and on farm visits
- Supporting wider consultancy projects and strategic business planning
- Building long term client relationships
As part of a small and experienced team, you will have the opportunity to become involved in all aspects of consultancy work and develop your own areas of expertise over time.
Requirements:
- Proven experience preparing Capital Grant applications and claims
- A strong understanding of UK agricultural policy and support schemes
- A practical understanding of farming systems
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West

Unlike many advisory roles, this position offers exposure to a broad range of work including grant applications, business planning, benchmarking, budgeting, investment appraisals and strategic reviews.
