Kelly Rail are looking for a committed and dedicated Project Engineer to join our new Project team based out of Nuneaton to deliver lineside Civils & Telecoms on the Rail infrastructure. This position is a new permanent position within a long-term project.
In your role you will be required to:
- Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities on relevant projects, compliant with all relevant legislation.
- Liaise with regulators and others as appropriate.
- Engineer Projects to the standards and specification of Network Rail, compliant with appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards, formal specifications, and procedures.
- Maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects and manage the environmental aspects of allocated projects in accordance with Network Rail’s environmental policy.
- Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including site supervision.
- Undertake reviews of design and/or construction activities in conjunction with the client.
- Arrange audit of on-site Quality Inspections.
- Manage and deliver all aspects of Inspection & Test plan.
Essential Experience
- Successful candidate must have experience in lineside civils & Telecom installations.
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Rail & at least 3 years’ experience as a Project Engineer.
- Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental & quality assurance, and regulations.
- An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.
- Risk assessment & engineering management competency.
- Punctual & Team player.
- Positive, proactive, and flexible approach.
- Self-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Good task and time management skills.
- Honesty and integrity.
- Ability to work confidentially.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
Desirable Experience
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
- An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
- Project Safety management experience.
