Due to new project wins and ongoing long-term contracts, we are currently looking to recruit a permanent Estimator with demonstrable experience in the rail sector to join our friendly and successful bid team in our Nuneaton office. This is an immediate and attractive opportunity to join a company who are expanding year on year, and we offer excellent benefits along with career progression.

Candidate: We are looking for an experienced estimator; rail industry experience is essential. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of rail related M&E and Telecoms services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Estimating rail infrastructure projects both line side and stations – ideally experienced in Mechanical and Electrical, Telecoms, CCTV, CIS and Signalling sectors.
  • Tender surveys on rail and other infrastructure projects.
  • Liaising with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders during tender process.
  • Understanding of associated HSEQ risks and procedures.
  • Maintaining tender database.
  • Administering client procurement online portals.
  • Arrange and manage commercial terms and conditions review at tender stage.
  • Managing and communicating mid tender updates.
  • Arranging Director(s) pre-submission bid review meetings and arrange tender settlement meetings.
  • Obtaining and communicating post tender de-briefing with customer.
  • Ensuring handover process deliverables and arranging handover meetings with work delivery teams upon successful contract award.
  • Maintaining tender collateral library.

The position does not support hybrid working.

Knowledge: Role related professional qualifications and/or relevant demonstrable professional experience. Previous experience in similar role, preferably within the Rail Industry.

Skills:

  • Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Well-developed client facing skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational & planning skills.
  • Able to balance competing priorities and meet targets.
