We’re looking for a confident and organised Candidate Screening Resourcer to join our recruitment team.
This is a varied role where you’ll be one of the first touchpoints in the candidate journey, reviewing incoming applications, identifying suitable candidates and supporting the recruitment team in getting the right people through the process.
You’ll need a good eye for potential. Not every great candidate will have direct industry experience, so we’re looking for someone who can look beyond job titles and recognise transferable skills, relevant experience and genuine suitability for the role.
Alongside CV screening, you’ll manage your own recruitment activity, speak with candidates, complete initial screening calls and help progress suitable applicants through to the next stage.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing and sifting incoming CVs and applications
- Identifying strong candidates against agreed role criteria
- Spotting relevant transferable skills where direct experience isn't essential
- Carrying out initial candidate screening calls
- Recruiting for your own allocated vacancies
- Speaking with candidates about roles, expectations and next steps
- Shortlisting suitable candidates for progression
- Keeping candidate records and recruitment trackers accurate and up to date
- Advertising vacancies and supporting attraction activity
- Maintaining regular communication with candidates throughout the process
- Working closely with the wider recruitment team to understand current priorities and requirements
- Helping ensure candidates meet the relevant eligibility and compliance requirements before progressing
- Providing a positive, professional first impression of the business
What we’re looking for
You don't necessarily need years of recruitment experience. What's more important is that you can communicate confidently, make sensible decisions and recognise a good candidate.
- Confident speaking with candidates over the phone
- Comfortable reviewing a high number of applications
- Able to assess CVs objectively against clear criteria
- Good at identifying transferable skills
- Organised and able to manage several vacancies at once
- Comfortable working with recruitment systems, job boards and Excel
- Accurate when handling candidate information and documentation
- Proactive and comfortable making decisions
- Friendly, professional and approachable
- Quality-focused rather than simply chasing numbers
- A genuine team player
What success looks like:
- Progress stronger, better-matched candidates
- Reduce unsuitable applications reaching recruiters
- Identify candidates with good transferable experience who might otherwise be overlooked
- Improve the speed from application to first contact
- Maintain a positive candidate experience
- Keep candidate information accurate and compliant
- Ultimately support better-quality hires and retention
What’s on offer for successful candidates?
- Competitive PAYE Salary
- 20 days’ holiday plus statutory bank holidays
- Company Pension scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Excellent career progression opportunities
