We are looking for a Centre of Excellence Technician on a contract until the end of March 2027 to join our R&D team, reporting to the Centre of Excellence (CoE) Co‑ordinator. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day activities within our Centre of Excellence, helping to deliver a high level of support to food and packaging designers and projects across the business. The CoE is currently based within our Manchester factory and will move to a temporary location in St Helens (Haydock) from June 2026, where you will be then based onsite full time.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- CoE Operations: Playing an active role in maintaining, supporting, and developing the day ‑ to ‑ day running of the CoE facility.
- Project Collaboration: Working closely with Food and Packaging Designers across the CoE, plants, and global partners to support successful project delivery.
- Quality Management: Managing and continuously improving raw material and finished food controls.
- Systems Ownership: Owning and developing key control and development systems, including safety, training, food hygiene, maintenance, and 3D printing.
- Global Logistics: Coordinating with courier partners to ensure global shipping meets expectations.
- Project Readiness: Preparing ingredients and equipment to support project activity.
- Change Support: Supporting the move to Haydock and contributing ideas on new ways of working.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
- The ability to build positive working relationships and develop partnerships that support teams both inside and outside the business.
- A basic understanding of food hygiene principles and material management.
- A self ‑ motivated approach, with the ability to take initiative and manage tasks independently.
- Basic computer skills, including experience using email, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and SAP.
