As a Quality & Food Safety Operations Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that ensure the Wrexham Plant consistently delivers safe, legal, and high-quality food in alignment with Kellanova\’s QFS standards. Reporting to the QFS Manager, you\’ll work collaboratively as part of the QFS Lead Team and partner closely with local functional leads, including Operations, Scheduling, EHS, HR, Finance, Capital, and Technical, as well as third-party external support functions such as Procurement and Suppliers.
You\’ll play a pivotal role in building capability across operational and technical teams, supporting both QFS and Shift Operations, and fostering a strong culture of compliance. This is an on-site role based at our Wrexham Plant.
A Taste of What You\’ll Be Doing
Capability Building & Coaching: Deliver training and coaching to operational and craft teams on QFS culture, sanitation standards, GMP, and compliance protocols.
Training Leadership: Led and facilitate Quality and Food Safety training programs, including annual refreshers.
Plant Hygiene Oversight: Ensure plant hygiene standards are consistently met to maintain audit and visit readiness.
QFS Coaching for Line Leads: Support Shift Line Leads in managing holds, out-of-standard conditions (e.g., metal, water, pests), quality defects, and food sampling.
QFS Team Support: Contribute to SOP development, sanitation schedule execution, rework/resampling, defect management, audits, and compliance checks.
Audit Readiness & Participation: Support internal and external audits (e.g., GFSI, Kosher, Halal, regulatory) and internal programs like the 7 Core Program
QFS COE Involvement: Act as an internal auditor and support KWS (Kellanova Work Systems) phase progression as a member of the QFS Centre of Excellence.
We\’re Looking for Someone With
Strong understanding of manufacturing plant processes, quality systems, and food safety controls.
Proven ability to interpret and execute food quality audit schemes effectively.
Skills in leading specialist teams and engaging with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems.
Strong decision-making, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
