Kellanova is investing £75 million in its cereal plant in Wrexham, aiming to make it the largest cereal manufacturing site in Europe. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Operator to join our team in Wrexham. This onsite role is based primarily at our Wrexham plant and encompasses all aspects of an FMCG production facility, including a busy, high-volume manufacturing plant and office environments.
Reporting to the Shift Line Lead, you’ll be a hands-on member of a team responsible for operating relevant equipment to deliver plant performance. You will deputise for the Area Lead on a voluntary basis as required. As part of the lead operator structure in Operations, your objective is to deliver sustained business performance improvement in a standardised format across Wrexham plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Work Area Management: Ensure compliance with documentation/standards and escalate issues to Area Lead.
- Improvement Activities: Drive and execute daily improvement activities (Safety, Food safety, Golden 6, food reviews).
- MSS Tasks: Complete and sign off MSS tasks.
- Employee Development: Participate in employee Development Review process for self and team development.
- Performance KPIs: Deliver all relevant performance KPIs in the team area.
- Autonomous Maintenance: Complete AM tasks to drive equipment towards zero loss and manage individual equipment as an owner, including training and documentation.

- Organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills: Critical for training to build team capability.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and prioritise self.
- Numeracy and attention to detail: Skills to report information both verbally, written, and system-based.
- Practical skills and understanding of equipment transformations: Critical for AM equipment ownership and training.
