Kelling Group is a leading provider in the hire of specialist access equipment, access platforms, welfare unit hire and services to growing infrastructure.

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Stock Manager to lead and optimise our stores and stock function across the Group.

You’ll be responsible for managing stock across five depots, driving efficiencies, and ensuring smooth, cost-effective operations.

This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on leadership, organisation, and collaboration across multiple teams and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee stock across all five depots (approx. 3,000 SKUs), including two main sites and three satellite locations.
  • Manage remote stock levels with regular site visits to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and execute cycle counts, quarterly, and annual stock takes.
  • Maintain and improve supplier and product databases to optimise stock management.
  • Ensure compliance with auditing requirements and reconcile stock counts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate stock records on Syrinx, following correct procedures for stock booking.
  • Keep main stores organised and tidy, reviewing current procedures for efficiency improvements.
  • Communicate any order lead times or delays to relevant teams promptly.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage day-to-day operations of Stores Controllers.
  • Identify training needs and support team development.
  • Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, approve timesheets, and manage holiday requests in line with company policy.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety policies.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs to ensure team performance and efficiency.
  • Finance & Reporting
  • Monitor stock levels to maintain optimal holdings based on demand and projections.
  • Process parts requests, ensuring all orders are placed, confirmed, and communicated effectively.
  • Maintain Syrinx pricing files to ensure up-to-date item costs.
  • Support the Recharges department with stock and pricing queries.
  • Work closely with accounts to resolve invoices and pricing issues promptly.
  • Complete any ad-hoc duties as required to support smooth operations.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with suppliers, staff, and other stakeholders at all times.

Essential

  • Proven experience in stock management and warehouse/stores operations.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills; ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous management experience (minimum 2 years).
  • Proficient in Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in setting up stock management functions or WMS systems.
  • Knowledge of Power Apps and Power BI.
  • Experience in warehouse relocation projects.
  • Experience with WMS implementation, design, deployment, or troubleshooting.
