We thrive on innovation and teamwork, driving solutions that make a real impact every day! The Transportation team seeks a Domestic Transportation Team Lead at Media City UK, Salford, United Kingdom. Your role will be to manage planners and improve processes and supplier relations, focusing on cost and service. This is a 12 month fixed term contract, working on a hybrid basis from our office in Media City, Salford.
A Taste Of What You'll Be Doing
- Team Leadership and Planner Development - Lead, train, coach and support a team of domestic transport planners in effective management of daily transport plans.
- Freight Resource Coordination - Manage the organization of freight resources to execute these plans in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner effectively with market customer service, customer integration, warehousing, procurement and planning teams, to ensure the necessary service level as defined by the business.
- Haulier Escalation Management - Act as point of escalation for haulier management, to ensure service level and optimal cost management.
- Tender Analysis and Optimisation - Participate in yearly tender process, providing analysis and insights to optimise the balance of cost and service.
We're Looking for Someone With
- Experience in logistics coordination, transport planning, supply chain planning or equivalent (3+ years).
- Working knowledge of a Transport Management System.
- Understanding of transportation rules and regulations; standard processes and business policies.
- Experience managing supplier relationships.
