School Catering Assistant - Walsall

Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting for a School Catering Assistant in Walsall. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous catering or kitchen porter experience who is looking for regular, weekday work within a school environment.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join the team and support the smooth running of school catering services.
What you will be doing
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff.
- Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
- Washing up and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
- Following food allergen procedures to help protect pupils with allergies.
- Travelling between locations where necessary as part of the Catering Assistant role.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or Kitchen Porter.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check.
- A driving licence is beneficial but not essential, as occasional travel to other locations may be required by the client.
- Food Safety Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Food Allergen Awareness certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- A reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
