Sous Chef - School Catering

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head Chef with the daily running of the school kitchen.
- Preparing and cooking fresh, high quality meals for pupils and staff.
- Assisting with menu planning and dietary requirements.
- Supervising and supporting kitchen staff.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
- Following HACCP procedures and allergen guidelines.
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste.
- Ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and ready for service.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or in a similar role.
- Experience in a busy professional kitchen.
- School or education catering experience is desirable but not essential.
- Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete the required training.
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- A reliable, professional and positive attitude.
- An Enhanced DBS check for the child workforce, including the relevant barred list check where required, or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
Pay rates will depend on experience and the requirements of the role.
