We are looking for an experienced and driven Sous Chef to support the leadership of a thriving, independent pub and dining destination, celebrated for its Michelin Bib-level food, live music, and carefully curated drinks list. Independently owned, we have the freedom to set our own standards and have built a strong reputation for quality, atmosphere, and consistency. With business performance exceeding expectations, we are now seeking a Sous Chef who can work closely with the Head Chef to maintain and elevate our food offering, standards, and kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Help lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality food.
- Ensure dishes are executed to spec with strong attention to detail and presentation.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and GP management.
- Support menu development and contribute creative input where appropriate.
- Manage sections during service and step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Help with rotas, training, and development of junior chefs.
About You
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a quality, food-led environment.
- A solid understanding of fresh, seasonal cooking and consistent execution.
- Strong leadership skills with a calm, hands-on approach in service.
- Well organised with good attention to detail.
- A positive team player who leads by example.
- Passionate about food, standards, and developing others.
