Catering Assistant in Scarborough

Berkeley Scott Leeds are currently looking for reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our team, working across a variety of sites in Scarborough. Preferably with a DBS but not essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy catering environment, has experience with food preparation, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Preparing sandwiches, salads, and other simple food items.
• Carrying out basic food preparation, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
• Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Operating the till and handling cash/card transactions.
• Setting up and clearing dining areas.
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general catering duties.
• Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or in a similar catering or hospitality role.
• Experience with basic food preparation in a commercial kitchen.
• A good understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
• A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.
