What You'll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of meals and ingredients
  • Helping with serving food to pupils and staff
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
  • Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Following food safety and allergen procedures
  • Supporting the wider catering team during busy service periods
  • Ensuring food preparation areas are kept clean, organised and safe
  • Providing a friendly and professional service within the school

Previous catering or kitchen experience is beneficial, but we are also happy to consider candidates with a positive attitude who are keen to learn.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS required
  • 2 references required
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate required or willingness to obtain
  • Food Allergen Certificate required or willingness to obtain
  • Previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience is desirable
  • Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and professional approach when working around children and school staff
