Berkeley Scott are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Assistants to join our team working within a school environment in Northampton.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll support the catering team in ensuring the school kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with food preparation and serving meals
  • Supporting the catering team during busy service periods
  • Preparing ingredients and keeping work areas clean and organised
  • Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
  • Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
  • Assisting with stock rotation and correct food storage
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Helping provide a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
  • Working effectively as part of a busy kitchen team

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience is desirable
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
  • Food Allergen Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
  • Enhanced DBS - required
  • 2 references - required
  • A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
  • A professional approach to working within a school setting
