Leicester School Kitchen Assistant - £12.71 to £14.00 per hour
Berkeley Scott are currently recruiting for a School Kitchen Assistant in Leicester to support a busy school kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone reliable, hardworking and passionate about providing a high standard of food service in an education setting.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of the school kitchen, helping to ensure meals are prepared and served safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with basic food preparation and meal service
- Supporting the catering team during busy lunch periods
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment and work areas clean
- Following food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and general kitchen duties
- Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff
- Working as a General Assistant when required to support the wider catering team
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Assistant, catering assistant or within a similar food service environment is desirable
- An Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Food Allergen and Food Safety Level 2 certificates, or willingness to obtain them
- Two references covering your recent employment history
- A reliable, positive and professional approach to work
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Good understanding of hygiene, food safety and allergen procedures
- A willingness to undertake general duties as a General Assistant when needed
