Berkeley Scott Recruitment are actively recruiting experienced Chefs for the new school year starting in September! Working with our client, Impact Food Group, we have a variety of Education Chef roles available across schools in the Lancaster area. This is an excellent opportunity for Chefs seeking weekday work, work-life balance and the potential to secure long-term or permanent placements in school kitchens!

What You'll Be Doing as an Education Chef:

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
  • Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
  • Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
  • Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service
  • Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations

What We Are Looking For In Our Education Chefs:

  • Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef - preferably in a school or similar environment
  • Right to work in the UK - sponsorship is not available for these roles
  • Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willing to obtain is essential
  • Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential
  • A passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people
  • Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, as well as additional compliance training, is essential and will be provided free of charge for all applicants

Rates of pay are dependent on experience and/or the specific site/client. Pay rates are dependent on level of experience and role offered.
