What You'll Be Doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll help the catering team keep the school kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with food preparation and service
- Supporting the catering team during busy meal periods
- Preparing ingredients and keeping work areas organised
- Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
- Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and correct food storage
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Supporting the team to provide a friendly service to pupils and staff
- Working efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team
Requirements
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience is desirable
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
- Food Allergen Certificate - required, or willingness to obtain
- Enhanced DBS - required
- 2 references - required
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- A professional approach to working within a school setting
