We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Hotel Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has already built solid experience within an accounts or finance role and is now ready to take on greater responsibility, develop their management accounting experience and progress their career within a growing hotel group.

Working across our dynamic operation, you will support the Finance Manager in the day-to-day management of the finance function, with particular involvement in month-end, financial reporting, balance sheet control, revenue reconciliation and maintaining strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end reporting.
  • Take responsibility for key areas of the month-end process, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
  • Assist with profit and loss account reviews and provide supporting analysis where required.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes.
  • Review daily revenue and income audit information, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Complete daily and monthly revenue reconciliations
  • Reconcile cash, bank, credit card and other control accounts.
  • Oversee and support accounts payable processes, including supplier invoices, statement reconciliations and payment runs.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with operational departments across both hotels to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and assist with the preparation of audit schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies.
  • Assist with training, coaching and supporting Accounts Assistants and other junior members of the Finance team.
