Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting Food Service Assistants with an Enhanced DBS to join our busy agency team, supporting schools across Derby and the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation and service
- Serving healthy meals, snacks, and refreshments to pupils and staff
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
- Clearing tables and service areas as required
- Washing dishes, utensils, and catering equipment
- Following food hygiene, health and safety, and school safeguarding procedures
- Supporting chefs and catering teams with the smooth running of school meal services
- Delivering friendly and professional customer service
Requirements
- A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (registered on the Update Service is desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
- A good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
- Food Allergen Awareness Certificate
- A reliable, professional, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Availability for weekday daytime shifts, ideal for school hours
