As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include
- Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team
- Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food
- Serving meals to children while working closely with teachers and care staff
- Operating tills and handling payments where required
- Cleaning down kitchen and dining areas at the end of service
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Following all food safety and food allergen procedures at all times
- Keeping food service areas clean, organised and fully stocked
- Working alongside school staff to deliver an efficient catering service
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Catering Assistant (experience within education is desirable but not essential)
- A Food Safety and Food Allergen qualification, or willingness to complete one
- An Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List, or willingness to obtain one
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work well in a busy catering environment
- A positive, reliable and professional attitude
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
