Berkeley Scott are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join a school catering team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for an immediate start within a supportive school environment.

What you will be doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the catering team with the smooth running of the school kitchen and help maintain high standards of food preparation and cleanliness.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with basic food preparation and serving meals
- Supporting chefs and the wider kitchen team
- Washing up and keeping kitchen areas clean and organised
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Helping with deliveries, stock rotation and storage
- Supporting the team during busy service periods
- Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe and well organised
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar catering environment is desirable
- Experience within a school or education setting is desirable
- Enhanced DBS required
- 2 references required
- Food Safety Level 2 certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Allergen certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Right to work in the UK
