Recruiting at Yorkshire Water to lead a field service team in South Yorkshire, covering the Blackburn Meadows depot.

Overview

The role involves managing day‑to‑day operations of a wastewater network, leading a front‑line team, and ensuring customer service and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a field technician team to deliver first‑time‑fix solutions.
  • Manage customer issues, drive performance management and coaching.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met and maintain regulatory and company SLAs.
  • Operate commercial vehicles, resolve network incidents, and conduct procedural audits.
  • Implement cyclical maintenance programmes for flooding and pollution prevention.
  • Maintain required documentation within SLA limits.
  • Coordinate with customer service teams, stakeholders and management.
  • Provide line‑management support and operational planning.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading and developing people in a service environment.
  • Health and Safety management experience; IOSH qualified or H&S trained.
  • Strong driving performance measures on pollution and flooding, with change‑management experience.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in incident management and crisis response.
  • Proficient in IT with advanced Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Full UK driving licence with less than 6 points.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and out‑of‑hours rota.

Desirable

  • Understanding of sewer networks and common failure modes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory measures (pollution, flooding, SIM).
  • Technical knowledge of wastewater network operations.
  • Expert knowledge of WWS network assets.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of company quality systems and CRSA.
