Senior Finance Business Partner – Asset Management

Location : Bradford / Hybrid Working (2 days office a week – Bradford)

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Finance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Finance function is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

This role will require the delivery of an outstanding level of financial management and business performance management. In addition, you will drive sustainable financial performance of operations.

The provision of financial and commercial leadership in strategy development is essential, along with playing a leading role in the delivery of business strategies.

In particular, the development of financial tools to assist in decision making around asset management options considering the move to Totex regulation.

Where you fit in:

As our Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:

  • Lead a team of business partners to deliver outstanding financial support and leadership in terms of statutory, regulatory and commercial perspectives.
  • Active monitoring of regulatory outputs/outcomes and programme spend to ensure BCIC has an accurate position in relation to the capital/Totex programme.
  • Maintain the costing models required to manage solution costing.
  • Ensure YW has a robust decision-making framework to manage assets in a Totex environment.
  • Work with framework partners to ensure that full value is delivered through commercial contracts.
  • Play a leading role in periodic review processes to ensure the operational plans delivered to Ofwat are robust.
  • Develop and deliver challenging financial plans taking account of risk and the need for ongoing efficiency improvement.
  • Work with A2R and FP&A teams to ensure finance transformation delivers excellent end-to-end finance processes and provides excellent historic and forecast financial performance information to the business.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Business Partnering experience.
  • Qualified Accountant (or equivalent commercial discipline supplemented by significant financial experience).
  • Financial acumen, for example development of business cases, commercial experience.
  • Industry understanding, particularly in relation to regulatory finance and financial investors.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong management and organisational skills.
  • Resilient and challenging while building strong productive relationships.
