SAP Principal Consultant - HR

Yorkshire Water is hiring a SAP Principal Consultant – HR to join the IT team and help deliver high‑quality services to customers across the Yorkshire region. The role will initially be based in Bradford, moving to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, with 1 day per week hybrid working.

Location & Work Type

• Initial base: Bradford, moving to Leeds Valley Park (summer 2026).
• Working days: Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week.
• Hybrid arrangement: 1 day a week in the office.

What We Do

Yorkshire Water supplies clean drinking water and manages wastewater for over 5.4 million residents and visitors. Our IT team supports key business functions such as Finance, HR, Procurement, Capital Delivery and Asset Management. The SAP team optimises and transforms SAP applications and associated enterprise systems, delivering integrated solutions that meet regulatory and customer expectations.

Where You Fit In

As our SAP HR Principal Consultant you will:

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical solutions that drive business success.
  • Act as the trusted link between HR leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, and offshore AMS partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.
  • Lead system change initiatives from initial concept and requirements gathering through to successful implementation.
  • Partner with offshore AMS teams and business users to configure, test, and deliver enhancements across SAP SuccessFactors and S/4HANA Payroll.
  • Ensure all system and process changes are fully compliant with UK legislation and aligned with the wider SAP HR and Payroll landscape.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and facilitate clear communication across all levels of the organisation.
  • Support the delivery of key HR and Payroll projects, guiding solutions from design and development through to go‑live and post‑implementation support.
  • Provide expert technical knowledge and advice across SAP HR and Payroll applications, helping to optimise processes and maximise system performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance HR and Payroll systems, processes, and user experience.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership, offering strategic insight and recommendations to support business objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Core SAP & HR system expertise: Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, Compensation, Performance & Goals, Learning Management System, Time Management & Time Tracking, Recruitment & Onboarding.
  • Proven delivery of robust integrations across HR, payroll, and third‑party systems (e.g., pensions, benefits providers).
  • UK payroll & compliance knowledge: HMRC requirements, RTI submissions, GDPR, UK employment regulations.
  • Data & reporting expertise: SuccessFactors reporting, custom reporting development, data governance & GDPR awareness.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (slides, documents, spreadsheets).
  • Formal qualifications including SAP SuccessFactors certifications for key modules and SAP HCM Payroll certification (for legacy expertise).
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP HR/Payroll with at least 5+ years in SuccessFactors.
