Early Careers & Funded Learning Advisor
Location: Bradford, relocating to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026. Hybrid working may be offered depending on programme requirements.
Job type: Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Occasional evening duties may arise.
Responsibilities
- Support the Funding Learning Lead in delivering funded learning programmes, including the Yorkshire Water Graduate Management Programme, industry placement years, and degree apprenticeships.
- Act as the primary point of contact and subject‑matter expert for Graduate, Undergraduate and higher‑level apprenticeship programmes, ensuring compliance and prioritising learner experience.
- Co‑ordinate coaching, pastoral support and overall programme delivery for all funded learning participants.
- Upskill managers and workplace mentors on graduate and apprenticeship programmes and provide ongoing support.
- Collaborate with university partners and other educational providers to position Yorkshire Water as an employer of choice for internships, industry placements and graduate programmes.
- Represent Yorkshire Water at university, academic and careers events to promote funded learning opportunities.
- Assist in recruitment activities for Early in Careers programmes and give feedback on outcomes.
- Work with Early Careers colleagues to enhance the experience of all learners within the Early in Careers arena, including apprentices and work‑experience participants.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience delivering a graduate programme.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching young people.
- Strong IT skills.
- Possession of PTTLs or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a customer‑facing role.
- Resilience and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Capability to work independently and drive continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Knowledge of graduate recruitment practices and the Yorkshire labour market.
- Understanding of leadership and behavioural frameworks related to graduate programmes.
- Experience delivering employability mentoring support.
- Familiarity with early in careers programmes.
- Assessor or internal verified qualifications, or a willingness to pursue them.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
