Location

This role will initially be based in Bradford, and in summer 2026 the office will move to Leeds Valley Park, where you will be based.

Work type

Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Senior Project Manager to join the Project Management team at Yorkshire Water. The role focuses on delivering high‑value projects that support the company’s service to customers and the community.

Yorkshire Water provides essential water and wastewater services, protects the environment and supports the wellbeing of communities across Yorkshire. The Project Management team helps meet evolving customer and regulator expectations in a rapidly changing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects, accountable for scope, governance, execution and outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain project controls including planning, monitoring, reporting, risk, change and quality assurance.
  • Manage project finances: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, revenue management and capital expenditure.
  • Provide financial stewardship and insight for senior stakeholders.
  • Drive cost optimisation and deliver financial insights for investment decisions.
  • Build & maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision‑making through clear governance and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure robust governance with oversight of risks, issues, changes and performance.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and coordinate resource deployment for effective utilisation, compliance and quality.
  • Maintain high‑quality standards and continuous improvement.
  • Drive benefits realisation aligning deliverables with business objectives.
  • Measure, monitor and track benefits throughout the lifecycle.
  • Deliver projects within agreed scope, timescales, budget and quality.
  • Optimise project costs and maximise value.
  • Embed risk‑management practices and communicate risks effectively.
  • Build stakeholder confidence through transparent communication.
  • Ensure business benefits are realised through successful delivery and change.
  • Deliver measurable organisational value aligned with strategic priorities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects with governance, budgeting, controls and stakeholder management.
  • Strong financial management: budgeting, forecasting, planning and spend control.
  • Experience in cost optimisation and clear financial reporting.
  • Ability to model budgets, forecast and support investment decisions.
  • Risk‑management expertise: identification, mitigation, reporting and stakeholder advice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building and influence.
  • Experience managing benefits realisation and aligning outcomes to business cases.
  • Proven resource, supplier, quality, compliance management and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of project‑management methodologies, governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and leadership skills.
