Location

We are looking for an Operational Delivery Manager to cover the West Yorkshire area in our Customer Field Services department within the Wastewater Service Delivery Business Unit. You will be primarily based from our site in Bradford but we are moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026. The role is a hybrid working arrangement, however, there will be an expectation that time will be spent working from the operational sites from where your team(s) operate.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. As part of the role you will be required to participate in a standby rota.

Responsibilities

As our Operational Delivery Manager you will be responsible for managing remote operational teams across a specific geographical area in the Yorkshire region. You will lead continuous improvement in customer service by striving to deliver same‑day solutions to customers and environmental‑impacting incidents. You will also oversee planned repair and maintenance activities on the wastewater network and deliver the asset plan for network maintenance to eliminate future escapes.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Strong customer focus and dynamic people leadership with proven success in leading operational teams remotely in a busy operations environment, managing day‑to‑day reactive workloads and achieving excellent performance against challenging targets
  • Experience of Health and Safety Management processes and procedures H&S trained, preferably IOSH qualified
  • Experience in managing, leading and embedding change initiatives in the field
  • Ability to performance manage – and ideally awareness of actions on performance measures (pollution, flooding internal and external, stability and reliability)
  • Proficient in IT with in‑depth knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • High levels of resilience to enable delivery of a demanding role and excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and solve issues in a timely and effective manner to ensure network activity does not adversely impact network stability or customer service
  • Co‑operative working internally and externally with the team, focusing on collective goals
  • Proven ability to work in a busy environment, managing day‑to‑day reactive workloads
  • Full valid UK driving licence (no more than 6 points)
  • Participation in standby rota
