We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer Electrical to join the Engineering Team at Yorkshire Water and help deliver great service to our customers. This permanent role is based in the Yorkshire Region (Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Hull) with remote working and regular travel to Yorkshire Water sites and offices (typically 2-3 days a week). The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for the Project Engineer Electrical to work with our Engineering Team to develop the standards by which the company operates and deliver projects to those standards. Continuous training is available to develop and maintain experience with the latest technologies and industry standards. You will be part of Engineering within the Asset Delivery department with accountability for all Instrumentation, Control Systems and Automation across the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, deploy and test business-critical Electrical services in one or more of the following areas:
- Instrumentation
- PLC & HMI/LOI systems (Programmable Logic Controllers & Human Machine Interfaces / Local Operator Interfaces)
- SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) applications
- Site data networks
- Take a technical and financial lead role on projects, delivering best value and ensuring technical outcomes meet business requirements
- Ensure projects are developed and delivered to the appropriate quality, standards and specifications
- Ensure projects are compliant with necessary statutory legislation including Health and Safety and Construction Design and Management (CDM) requirements as appropriate, acting as Principal Contractor
- Ensure a formal customer handover process against the agreed scope
- Create and modify assets to ensure they are safe, compliant, reliable and affordable, aligned with operational risk
- Provide technical input into developing short- and long-term strategic plans
Qualifications and experience:
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent Engineering Apprenticeship & ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
- Broad experience with electrical and ICA equipment to produce engineered solutions addressing business risks
- Qualifications and experience to facilitate Yorkshire Water Electrical Authorisation (LV)
- Ability to engage with PLC, HMI, SCADA, Telemetry and related instruments on Yorkshire Water sites
- Ability to diagnose issues with PLC, HMI, SCADA and Instrumentation and understand change control
- Ability to highlight complex technical issues and support resolution
- Understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM) principles
- Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region

- Ability to work with equipment manufacturers to identify gaps and propose enhancements
- Ability to understand risk on site and construction risks
