Doggy Styling is a high-end, unique grooming salon and dog boutique, a home-from-home for our four-legged friends. This is a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice dog groomer to join our team and learn on the job. The goal is to progress to a stylist position.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing dogs to specification, ready to be groomed by the stylist. Tasks include bathing, drying, nail clipping and rough trimming.
  • Learning and following direction from a grooming trainer.
  • Assisting in ensuring excellent salon presentation is maintained and high standards are kept through cleanliness, safety and good housekeeping standards.

Working hours: 9:15am to 6pm with 30 min lunch, Tuesday to Saturday.

Desired Skills & Personal Qualities:

  • Experience working and handling dogs in a grooming environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, as you will be dealing with doggy parents.
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn and have a real passion for dogs (please show examples in your application).
  • Preferably a local candidate that we can rely on.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • Working toward and gaining a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship.
  • Allocated an industry-specific training consultant providing remote and on-site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • Working toward an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of the apprenticeship.
